Shrink-wrapped books and packages marked “no return if unwrapped” will not be returnable if the original shrink-wrap is broken. Textbooks must be returned in the exact same condition as purchased, with NEW textbooks free of marking or damage to the covers and pages. Diskette and CD-ROM packs must be unopened. Damaged NEW textbooks will be refunded at the used price of the textbook if 710 Book Store still has a need for the title, if not the book will be purchased back at it's current "wholesale value" (see textbook buyback).
Return Policy
710 Book Store has professional book buyers who buy textbooks every business day. 710 will pay up to 50% of the retail price for current titles being used in the upcoming semester at SIU or JAL. Buyback prices are based on many factors, including the timeliness of textbook information provided by the professors, enrollment figures, and our existing stock. Given the frequent fluctuations in the value of textbooks, 710 cannot give exact price quotes online. However, we will be happy to tell you whether or not we can buy your textbooks at this time in the store. So you know…..the best time of year to sell your textbooks is at the end of the fall and spring semesters. At this point, 710 will know what texts are being used for the upcoming semester, and will pay top cash for your books. When selling your books mid-semester, most offers will be based on the current wholesale value of your textbooks.
We will not give textbook pricing or buyback pricing information over the phone. Please come into the store for that information.
If your books are misplaced or stolen notify us immediately by calling 549-7304. We will create a record of your loss and if a thief tries to sell back your textbook we have a better chance of identifying them and retrieving your property. 710 Book Store will return your textbook to you at no cost and notify university and civil authorities of the thief's identity.
